Miami, FLMeta Betties, a cross-reality crypto art collective and Artist in Residence at The Oculus World Trade Center in New York, announces its upcoming live performance at the 10th anniversary edition of Satellite Art Show’s Fair during Art Basel Miami.

Founded by multidisciplinary artist and curator Blakelee Pieroni, Meta Betties bridges onchain digital art with choreographed, physical performance to explore cultural conflicts through provocative satire.  On Wednesday December 4th, Meta Betties will unveil the Miami premiere of its conceptual performance art piece, “Red Meat”, which addresses the impact of recent political shifts on women’s rights.

“Red Meat” will headline night one of Satellite Art Show for Press & Satellite Art Show VIP ticket holders, Wednesday Dec 4th, 9-10pm at 700 Lincoln Road Mall, Miami Beach, FL 33139.

“Red Meat” is a contemporary performance piece by Meta Betties, addressing the urgent need for the protection of women’s rights and agency in today’s volatile political landscape. Created days before a pivotal election, the piece underscores the stakes for autonomy and the power of collective action. Through a combination of digital media and live performance, “Red Meat” engages audiences in a visceral experience that amplifies cultural conflicts around equality, urging viewers to consider the impact of their voices and choices.

Traits from within Meta Betties’ digital art collection materialize as physical objects within the piece, including one Bettie bound in red tape and another reimagining Yoko Ono’s “Cut Piece” (1964), expressing the urgency in the ongoing pursuit for gender equality.

Through rhythmic, punctuated movements and a powerful monologue highlighting issues like reproductive rights, domestic violence, and wage disparity, the piece demands attention to the stakes at hand and calls for women to shape their futures.

About Meta Betties

Meta Betties Collective are a bold, feminist reimagining of classic wartime America pin-up girls on the Solana blockchain. Through hypersexualized and provocative imagery, the Betties confront societal biases about women’s identities, drawing attention to the ongoing struggle for equitable rights, sex work decriminalization & the cyborg-like resilience of modern womanhood.

The project is a powerful commentary on how women are objectified, sexualized, and commodified. By reclaiming their own sexuality, Meta Betties challenge the deep-rooted expectations placed on women and force viewers to confront their own assumptions.

The collection represents a new genre of crypto art that bridges digital and physical collectibility in a new way. The trans media artform begins with an onchain, digital collectible on Solana that explores cultural conflicts through art satire. Alongside that, Meta Betties introduces the market’s first ever “Only Fans Performance Art Channel” – an avant-garde subversion of traditional Only Fans content that address the same themes as the digital collection. The channel is accessible exclusively to collectors, who are rewarded when traits within their digital pieces are used within the performances uploaded to the channel.
