Davos, Switzerland – Artist and technologist Ronen Tanchum debuts his interactive, generative installation Human Atmospheres as part of Art at the Edge of Change: The Davos 2026 arts and culture programme at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting, taking place January 19-23, 2026.

As part of this year’s arts and culture programme under the theme A Spirit of Dialogue, Tanchum’s Human Atmospheres explores ecological and social systems by translating data into sensory and emotional encounters that underscore the connections between humanity, technology, and nature. The installation transforms real-time weather data from Davos into a living digital landscape, a dynamic interplay of mountains, clouds and human presence. The work merges climate information with embodied interaction, allowing the atmosphere itself to respond to the viewer. Within the space, movement becomes meteorology, each gesture a breeze, each pause a clearing sky. Slow steps draw drifting clouds, while sudden gestures may summon storms.

The work will accompany classical performances from the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, joined by world-renowned violinist Renaud Capuçon, and followed by a performance from multi-Grammy Award-winning artist Jon Batiste. Human Atmospheres will react in real time to the musicians’ performances during the opening ceremony concerts, rendering musical notes into dynamic imagery, and ultimately creating a digital echo of humanity’s imprint on the natural world.

At once poetic and technological, Human Atmospheres invites reflection on the unseen relationships between environment, perception and impact. It is not merely a portrait of nature but of the systems we inhabit and influence, an emotional mirror of the climate we live within and the presence we project into it.

Tanchum’s artistic practice spans generative systems, AI, immersive environments and interactive experience, informed by a career in visual effects, computational design, and as the founder of Phenomena Labs. His work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, Art Basel Miami, and Expo 2020 Dubai, and now at the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting, where culture and creative imagination are placed at the centre of global exchange.

About Ronen Tanchum

Ronen Tanchum is a contemporary artist working with generative systems, immersive environments, and interactive technologies. His background combines fine art, computational design, software development, and 3D simulation, including contributions to major film and media productions.

He is the founder of Phenomena Labs, a creative studio producing large-scale installations, digital commissions, and generative artworks across both physical and virtual spaces.

Tanchum’s projects use robotics, artificial intelligence, sensors, and real-time algorithms to construct evolving perceptual environments. His work moves between digital and physical realms, treating technology as material to surface behavioral patterns, environmental systems, and emotional responses.

He collaborates with museums, technology platforms, and cultural institutions to develop site-specific installations that invite reflection, interaction, and presence. He leads multidisciplinary teams in creating artworks that reshape our understanding of nature, machines, and human experience. He also lectures on generative aesthetics, digital ethics, and the role of artists in shaping technological culture.

His work has been exhibited internationally at the World Economic Forum, the Tel Aviv Museum Of Art, Art Basel Miami, Expo 2020 Dubai, Galerie Met Berlin, and Artblocks Marfa. It has been featured in VICE, Colossal, Hyperallergic, and Creative Applications, spanning interactive ecosystems, AI-generated imagery, large-scale projections, and public interventions.
