Los Angeles, CA – Wienholt Projects announces Erotic Terrains, the inaugural exhibition celebrating the grand opening of their flagship brick-and-mortar space The Loved One in Echo Park, Los Angeles. The exhibition is on view June 26 – July 24, 2026 with an opening reception on June 26th, from 6-9 pm.
Erotic Terrains assembles an almost entirely Los Angeles-based group of artists working through themes of liminality and the otherworldly. Working in painting, photography, sculpture, collage, and mixed media, each artist abstracts and reconfigures landscape and the figure, infusing familiar environments with turbulent emotion. Curated by Aubrie Wienholt, Katelyn Katz, and JC Gabel, the group exhibition features artists Michelle Alexander, Paige Beeber, David Black, Jun Fujita, Francesca Gabbiani, Eric Dwight Hancock, Jess Humphrey, Eric Ernest Johnson, Ken Karagozian, Sol Kordich, Amy MacKay, Alex McAdoo, Wyatt Mills, Merrick Morton, Akiko Stehrenberger, Orian Williams, Senon Williams, & Russell Young.
This exhibition marks the official opening of The Loved One, a project by Wienholt Projects and Hat & Beard Press that serves as both a gallery space and an art bookshop in the heart of Echo Park. At The Loved One, Wienholt Projects continues their mission of championing artists across mediums and career stages, bringing together both internationally recognized and emerging voices to draw connections within their practices and contribute to a wider cultural dialogue.
At the opening reception, guests will enjoy complimentary wines by Donnafugata @donnafugatawine featuring their beautifully refreshing Lighea 2025 as well as spirits by Madre Mezcal @madremezcal.
