New York, NY – The Earth Bill Network partners with socially-driven art project Meta Betties to co-host an exhibition and event, with notable guest speaker Chad Frischmann, on April 20, 2024, 4:00 – 8:00 PM, at The Canvas 3.0 Gallery at The Oculus: Westfield World Trade Center. The event comes at a crucial time, with the UN climate chief recently calling for faster action on climate change efforts and ahead of this year’s Earth Day.

Founded by artist Blakelee Pieroni, Meta Betties is a multidisciplinary digital activism project that intersects art, fashion, performance and the blockchain with monthly events and activations that bring together art, technology and community activism to create catalysts for social change. A provocative subversion of 1940s pin-up imagery, Meta Betties examines ongoing social issues with aggregated, activist-based tools that not only inform its collectors but also incentivize community action. The launch of Meta Betties socially-conscious collectibles and activations begins with a themed exhibit centered on climate change and a rally in support of The Earth Bill (H.R. 598, currently on the floor of Congress).

The event is co-hosted by The Earth Bill Network, the organization working to pass scientifically-based federal climate legislation. The event raises awareness for The Earth Bill (H.R. 598) in Congress with an exhibition of digital art and activism, live performances, and scientific information about this flagship bill designed to build a movement powerful enough to save the future. Subject matter experts will speak about the science behind the bill, while orchestrated digital, physical and performance art will thematically raise awareness and mobilize real-time advocacy from visitors in the gallery.

Chad Frischmann will be speaking at the event. He is CEO and Founder of Regenerative Intelligence (RegenIntel), the co-creator of Project Drawdown, co-author of the book Drawdown, and the architect and lead researcher of the Drawdown Solutions Framework, the engine behind the most comprehensive plan ever proposed to solve global warming. As a renowned steward of planetary change, he has spoken at hundreds of major events globally and his TED talk has over 2.3m views.

About Meta Betties

Meta Betties is a concept art collectible that serves as a running social commentary on current events and cultural conflicts. Inspired by classic pin-up girls of 1940s America, Meta Betties are reborn as modern evangelists that call attention to social issues and injustices through iconic symbolism and message. The art is provocative and chaotic, and minted on the Ethereum blockchain each Meta Bettie serves as a timestamp of social issues and human progression as real-world events unfold.  The IRL subject matter feeds the project endlessly from year-to-year and collectors get to invest, trade and act on the issues that drive the culture towards progress, or to ruin. The Brand seeks to pioneer new models for using art + the blockchain as a catalyst for social change.
