Los Angeles, CA – Vellum LA is proud to present INCARNATION, a group exhibition exploring imaginary notions of the human form in collaboration with H+ Creative, curated by Hannah Stouffer.

Artworks from the exhibition will be on display at Vellum LA through July 2, presented on state-of-the-art LED Luma Canvas displays, and sold as 1/1 of NFTs on SuperRare starting June 1.

INCARNATION features: Blake Kathryn, Bloo Woods, Chad Knight, Jason Ebeyer, Jess Johnson x Simon Ward, Kira Xonorika, Ninocence, Paulina Almira, Renderfruit, and Rzarekt.

The representation of the human form, the mortal body and qualities of the flesh have been transcribed across countless mediums in an array of visual configurations through time. In present day, a creative interpretation of incarnation is often conveyed in a paradoxical approach from the word’s original meaning. The work of artists in the digital realm explores this embodiment with glimpses of human qualities, often communicated through abstracted imagery, otherworldly bodies, spiritualization and disembodiment. Physical forms that we can identify as “being human” are introduced in new arrangements with differing viewpoints in sexuality, spirituality and perceptions of the physical body. Contrary to the archaic definition of incarnation “to take on flesh,” the limitlessness of material, texture and thought give new meaning to the possibilities a fleshy form can take.
