Meet the photographer whose photoshoot with Bowie launched his career
Photographer Markus Klinko hosts meet & greet as worldwide tour of Bowie Unseen comes to Markowicz Fine Art in Dallas
DALLAS – In an intimate meet-and-greet, famed photographer Markus Klinko will discuss his seminal photoshoot with the late, seemingly untouchable David Bowie that ultimately launched the start of Klinko’s star-studded career.
In 2002, Klinko met Bowie to shoot the cover of his album Heathen. The photoshoot went on for over eight hours and, in addition to the instantly recognizable cover, resulted in an archive of other images that went unseen for years. After Bowie’s death, Klinko eventually let these never-before-seen images of the enigmatic star unveil themselves in the series Bowie Unseen that has gone on a worldwide tour, drawing acclaim from London to Paris to Hong Kong. Now, the series has arrived stateside, showcasing in both Los Angeles and New York before arriving at Markowicz Fine Art in Dallas, TX.
Attendees will get the chance to meet Klinko to learn more about how this photoshoot influenced his career alongside a new series of photographs of other A-list celebrities and models, including recent Grammy-winning Billie Eilish. Listen to Klinko’s firsthand accounts of memorable moments throughout his career, enjoy cocktails, and view some of his most notable works.
