First novel in new trilogy from Shakespeare scholar & actor is a literary romp through Elizabethan England
ILLYRIA: Betrayal of Angels combines historical events with Shakespeare’s characters in mysterious adventure rife with court intrigue
Los Angeles, CA – Best known for his acting career on the theater stage and silver screen as well as his deep knowledge of Shakespeare, author Armin Shimerman’s newest novel, the first in a trilogy, is a literary romp. ILLYRIA: Betrayal of Angels, from Jumpmaster Press, is a historical fiction novel with nods to mystery and speculative fiction that picks up a period of English history 50 years after Hilary Mantel’s famous Cromwell novels, resulting in an electric, genre-bending adventure.
ILLYRIA: Betrayal of Angels explores the mysterious “lost years” of William Shakespeare before he was The Bard and the mysterious historical figure of Dr. John Dee, scientist, occultist, and aid to Queen Elizabeth I. The novel blends scrupulous Tudor scholarship with Shakespeare’s world of Twelfth Night, following Shakespeare and Dr. John Dee’s escapades from London to the island of Illyria, rooting out a treasonous plot against Elizabethan rule.
The novel is available now in paperback and ebook, or JumpCardID™, which is made for all electronic reading devices.
