Robert Obier Announces Major Winter Art Fair Presentations Across Miami, Los Angeles and Palm Beach
The multidisciplinary artist and former architect brings his fusion of traditional craftsmanship, industrial design, and emerging technology to three major U.S. art fairs
Los Angeles, CA – Artist, architect and industrial designer Robert Obiert will present work across three major U.S. art fairs this winter, beginning with Art Miami, December 1–6, 2026, followed by the LA Art Show, January 6–10, 2027, and Art Palm Beach + Contemporary, January 27–31, 2027.
Spanning Miami, Los Angeles, and Palm Beach in just two months, the presentations continue a growing national trajectory for Obier, whose sculptural practice draws upon more than four decades of experience in architecture and industrial design.
Working at the intersection of fine art, design, and technology, Obier creates mixed-media sculptures that combine traditional woodworking and metalworking with contemporary processes including computer modeling, CNC fabrication, and 3D printing. The resulting works exist somewhere between artifacts and inventions: highly constructed objects that reference the visual languages of Art Deco, industrial design, machinery, organic architecture, and speculative futures.
Central to Obier’s practice is a fascination with contradiction. His sculptures appear simultaneously weathered and futuristic, mechanical and organic, handmade and computer-generated. Surfaces that suggest rust, age, and an earlier industrial era meet forms developed through some of today’s most advanced digital fabrication technologies.
Obier’s best-known body of work, Speedforms, exemplifies this approach. The series consists of dynamic, machine-like compositions whose symmetrical and aerodynamic forms recall vehicles, engines, architectural structures, and imagined technologies without resolving into any single functional object. Rather than designing for utility, Obier uses the methodologies of architecture and industrial design as a point of departure. Forms often begin as small hand-drawn sketches before being developed through multiple iterations as three-dimensional computer models and ultimately transformed into physical objects.
ART MIAMI

Obier will begin the season in Miami during Miami Art Week, presenting work at Art Miami with Alessandro Berni Gallery from December 1–6.
The presentation marks a return to Art Miami for Obier and follows previous appearances at major fairs across the United States. Details surrounding the works and curation of the presentation will be announced closer to the fair.
LA ART SHOW
January 6–10, 2027 | Allegro Gallery
Obier will return to the LA Art Show from January 6–10, 2027, presenting two works with Allegro Gallery.
The presentation follows Obier’s participation in Intersect Aspen Art + Design Fair and continues his relationship with collaborators from the Aspen presentation.
ART PALM BEACH + CONTEMPORARY
January 27–31, 2027 | Allegro Gallery
The winter season will conclude in Palm Beach, where Obier will present work with Allegro Gallery at Art Palm Beach + Contemporary, January 27–31, 2027.
Together, the three presentations offer audiences across the country an opportunity to encounter a practice shaped by the convergence of art, architecture, industrial design, craftsmanship, and technology.
About Robert Obier
Robert Obier (b. 1957 in Baton Rouge, LA) is a multimedia artist whose sculptural work bridges traditional craftsmanship and emerging technologies.
Drawing on a background spanning more than four decades as an architect and industrial designer, Obier creates works that explore the intersection of organic and mechanical forms, natural geometry, and speculative futures.
Obier’s work has received numerous awards from organizations including Society of Canadian Artists, National Art League, and Allied Artists of America. His work has been exhibited nationally at institutions and exhibitions including Alexandria Museum of Art (Alexandria, LA), Crocker Art Museum (Sacramento, CA), Art League of Hilton Head (Hilton Head, SC), and The Blanc Art Center (New York, NY), as well as art fairs such as Art Miami, The Hamptons Fine Art Fair, and the LA Art Show.
