Bitcoin Art Society Presents Art on Bitcoin at NFC Lisbon
Exhibitions and conversations explore permanence, authorship, and cultural preservation through works created directly on Bitcoin

Lisbon, Portugal — Bitcoin Art Society (BAS), a fine art institution dedicated to the preservation and presentation of art created directly on Bitcoin, will present a series of activations at NFC Lisbon, June 5, 2026, exploring the relationship between Bitcoin, contemporary art, and cultural permanence.

The program will include a keynote presentation, fireside conversation, exhibition programming, and a dedicated booth experience featuring works by resident artists BitArt and CyberSea. Together, the presentations explore how Bitcoin can function as a medium for artistic production, provenance, and collective memory.

At the center of the presentation is Mosaic by BitArt, a participatory artwork inscribed directly onto Bitcoin through Ordinals infrastructure. The evolving work transforms Bitcoin network activity into visual and sonic compositions, with each contributed satoshi becoming a tile within an ever-expanding mosaic shaped through collective participation.

Unlike many earlier forms of digital art that rely on external servers or off-chain storage systems, works inscribed directly on Bitcoin exist within Bitcoin’s decentralized ledger itself, introducing new possibilities for permanence, authorship, and long-term preservation.

Bitcoin Art Society was founded from a shared belief that some of the most important artworks of the digital age deserve preservation beyond temporary platforms and changing technological cycles. Through exhibitions, residencies, curatorial initiatives, and institutional engagement, BAS aims to help build the cultural framework surrounding art created on Bitcoin.

“Bitcoin is becoming a cultural medium,” said Serge Ajamian, Co Founder of Bitcoin Art Society. “Through our work, we are preserving and curating the human story on Bitcoin, forever. This shift introduces new questions around permanence, authorship, and cultural memory.”

Alongside Mosaic, BAS will also present works by CyberSea, whose practice explores generative systems, recursion, and live onchain data as artistic material.

Through its presence at NFC Lisbon, Bitcoin Art Society aims to deepen conversations surrounding conceptual art, provenance, decentralized infrastructure, and the future of preserving culture in the digital era.

About Bitcoin Art Society

Bitcoin Art Society (BAS) iBitcoin Art Society (BAS) is a fine art institution focused on the creation, curation, presentation, and long-term preservation of works created directly on Bitcoin.

Through exhibitions, artist residencies, and educational programming, BAS is building the institutional and curatorial framework for Bitcoin-based artistic practice.

About Mosaic by BitArt

Mosaic is an expanding artwork inscribed entirely onto Bitcoin through the Ordinals protocol. Translating the mathematical properties of Bitcoin into an evolving visual composition, each contributed satoshi becomes part of a larger system where collectors act as co-authors in a continuously developing artwork. The work explores permanence, authorship, collective participation, and the hidden structures embedded within Bitcoin itself.
